Superbowl Sunday is February 1st.  Come on down and watch the game on 5 TVs and one BIG SCREEN.  Specials on food and drinks will be available all day!

It's almost that time again... Valentine's Day!  This year it falls on a Saturday.  We transform our fun restaurant into a romantic setting for you and your loved ones.  A fixed price menu will be available including wine and dessert for less than $50.  More details will be available soon.

Comedy Night begins again on February 17th.  It's a 10 month series with amateurs and professionals alike competing for $100 each month in the preliminaries and much more for the finals in November 2004.  Admission is just $5 with a 2 drink minimum.  The laughs start at 9pm.

We think that it's fun to celebrate Mardi Gras with a party.  So we are!  February 27th is a special Mardi Party.  So get ready for beads, hurricanes, and a party that you'll never remember.

Events past:
New Year's Eve has come and gone!  We had all the usual festivities including 2 bands, Slackenloader and Switch 220, so everyone had constant music to boogie to all night, hot and cold finger foods, a balloon drop at midnight, a champagne toast, and more.  Thanks for joining us for a fabulous welcoming of the New Year.

In answer to your requests...  December 27th was DJ/Dance Night!  We had all sorts of specials and music to ease you all toward the new year.  Thanks for steppin' out and having some fun with us.  DJ Gene started spinnin' the dancin' tunes at 10pm and we all had a blast dancin' to the tunes!

November 27th was the 6th Annual Feed the Need Thanksgiving Dinner!  The dinner started at 11am and went until 3pm.  It was an opportunity for anyone in the community, regardless of circumstances, to get a great home-cooked traditional Thanksgiving meal and visit with friends and family.  We accepted gracious donations of cooked turkeys, canned goods, and other traditional meal treats as well as volunteers.  Thanks to everyone who helped and made this joyous event possible.

November 26th was our 5th Anniversary Party!  Each year we have a party/fund raiser for our Feed the Need Dinner.  We had 5 bands come down and join the party for a great mix of music and fun.  The proceeds from the night went to benefit our Feed the Need Dinner as well as The McHenry House.  This year we raised $1000 for The McHenry House!  Thanks!

November 18th was the Comedy Night Finals!  The laughs kicked off at 9pm and it was just $5.  Our 8 winners from previous comedy nights competed for a winner-takes-all grand prize.  This event was a hoot!  Kevin Shay walked away with the Grand Prize.  Congratulations!

October 31st was our 5th Annual Halloween Party/Contest!  The party began at 9pm and the contest winner was Piper.  She wore a fantastic home-made alien costume that was very unique.  Going Postal provided the music and fun was had by all.  The theme this year was 'Disney Characters.'

October 19th was our end-of-the-summer Party in the Park.  This event was a fun time for us to do something special for all of our friends, family, and staff to say thanks.  We had a DJ, clown, games, beer, and a super good BBQ.  We appreciate all of you that made it out, and also those that didn't.  The next one is the week of the time change in the early part of 2004.

October 14th was our 7th OPEN MIC COMEDY NIGHT!

October 9th was the 15th Annual Wine Stroll!  The festivities kicked off at 5:30pm with more blues bands downtown, lots of wine, and tons o' good times.  Our party after the stroll kicked off at 9:30 with Going Postal and the event was a great success as usual!  See you next year!

September 16th was our 6th OPEN MIC COMEDY NIGHT! 

The Bean Festival was here in downtown the first weekend in August.  Thanks for joining us here with the third official stage, bands, sand, palm trees, beer, and fun.  It was even better than last year!

Beach Blast 3 was here August 2nd and 3rd!
  It was our third time doing this special and outstanding event.  We filled our parking lot area with a stage, sand, palm trees, umbrellas, a beer garden, and more.  On Saturday we had the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search, UVR, 7thirty6, and our annual Beach Blast party, a ticketed event, featuring Robert Sea and Key West (A fabulous Jimmy Buffett tribute ban) and Goldfish (Southern California's premier party band.)  On Sunday we had a surprise headliner, and then Wishbox opening for Pat Travers!  Sun and fun in a beach party atmosphere.  What a Blast!  Take a look at the pictures from 2002's event!

On August 2nd we be hosted our 2nd
Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search.  The event in 2002 was wildly successful and the runner-up went on to become a spokes model for the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  This year was even bigger and better with more contestants and almost $1000 in prize money!  We're doing again in 2004 if you or someone you know is interested call Mike at 209-833-0862 for more information.

July 27th we had a VIP party. 
Our dear friend Gene Tinsley celebrated his 'official' retirement and turned 55.  We had food and drink specials, a guest DJ, and tons of fun.  We haven't had a VIP party in a while so this one was extra special


July 15th was
our 4th OPEN MIC COMEDY NIGHT!  The laughs began at 9pm.  This months winner was funny-man Darris.  He is proud to be new to Tracy from the Midwest and is a cook here at The Great Plate.

Cool Blues and Microbrews (the beer stroll) was on May 29th this year.  We had the super party band, Going Postal here playing to a capacity crowd.  What fun!

Mother's Day was May 11th, 2003.  We did our fantastic brunch that and, as usual, it was fantastic.  Thanks for coming down.

Open Jam Nights began on May 4th and ended on June 15th, 2003. 
We had a super host band and lots of fun.  We know it's hard to party on Sunday, but we'll think of something else to do on that night soon.


Cinco de 'Weekend' was on May 2nd and 3rd with Mexican food specials, Mexican beer specials, and some surprisingly fun entertainment.  Tabu was on the 2nd and No Drama was on the 3rd.

The Spring Great Plate Golf Tournament was on April 27th at Old River Golf Course.  The festivities kicked off at noon and we sold out early this year!  Always a good time.

Our first ever Open Mic Comedy Night was April 15th.  It was a riot!  We had 9 comedians with three of them being pros and the rest amateurs.  What fun!  Check the calendar for upcoming dates.

Our Party in the Park at Dr. Powers Park was on April 6th.  We brought the beer and some food, barbequed, drank, threw Frisbees, flew (or attempted to fly) a kite, listened to Gene the DJ, and just have a good time with our friends.  Thanks for making this one the best yet!

Monday March 17th was St. Patty's Day!  Everyone broke out their green and had some green beer and corned beef and cabbage.  We had Going Postal that nights so thanks for coming down and 'Being Irish for the Day!'

Our Mardis Party was on February 28th with live tunes from Guiness.  Beads and Hurricanes and more fun than you can shake a stick were had by all.

Our 1st Annual Mini-Golf Tournament was on February 23rd.  We gobbled down some lunch and had some libations before wreaking havoc on unsuspecting Boomers in Livermore.  This will most likely become an annual event.

Valentine's Day came and went.  This year it fell on a Friday, but we still managed to make it special and romantic for all of those who came out to celebrate with us.

Comedy Night at The Plate
struck again on Tuesday February 4th and featured PJ Walsh and Stephanie Howard.  This was a great show!

Comedy Night at The Plate struck again on Tuesday December 17th and featured Kevin Avery and Lisa Nelson.  As always the show was a barrel of laughs.

On December 31st, 2002
(Tuesday) we had another one of our fantastic New Year's Parties.  The Beat Monkeys and Going Postal performed to a sell-out crowd!  We had a balloon drop at midnight, plenty of hot and cold finger foods, great bands, dancing, champagne, and much more.  Take a look at the pictures page for some past parties!

On November 28th, 2002 we hosted our 5th Annual Feed the Need Thanksgiving Dinner.  This year we served about 300 dinners to many families from our community.  Everyone was welcome to come down for a traditional meal.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered and to those who donated food.  Your giving spirit is appreciated.

Our Benefit Concert
and 4th Anniversary Party was on November 27th.  This fantastically fun event will featured Megan Slankard, Roadkill Chili, Tabu, SevenThirty6, Slackenloader, and hopefully more performing sets from 6pm to 1am.  The concert proceeds benefitted our Thanksgiving Dinner (see below), Interfaith Ministries, and The McHenry House.  Thanks for your support!  We were able to donate food and a check for $1000 to McHenry House this year!

November 1st was
our Halloween Spooktacular!  This year we featured a 'Welcome to the Jungle' theme.  Slackeloader performed to a packed house of costumed revelers!  We had a super costume contest and the 1st prize went to the lovely Medusa!  Take a look at the pictures from last year.

Our most recent Golf Tournament was October 20th.  $65 got you 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch plus snacks, tons o' beer, a DJ playing throughout the day, tons of prizes, our gorgeous beer-cart girls, tons of fun, and more!  Now that's fun!  Thanks to all our sponsors and participants for making this the best tournament ever!

October 10th was the 14th Annual Downtown Tracy Wine Stroll.  Strollers walked through downtown Tracy tasting wine and hors d'oeuvres.  There was live Jazz music throughout the downtown area.  Following this popular event we had our favorite dance band Tabu performing and they rocked this packed house!  

Houseboating?  We went on our fabulous four-day house boating trip to the Delta September 20-23rd. We brought out kegs of beer, water toys, boats, games, and more.  What a blast it's was!  We're definitely going to do it again next year.  Let us know if you are interested in going.  Please email us and let us know!

Summer Bash 2 has come and gone!  The weekend of August 3rd and 4th was one heck of a party!  We had a beer garden, live music all weekend, a VIP area, games, a Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Contest Sunday,  a Goldfish concert Saturday night, and more!  Take a look at the photos.  Maybe you're in one!

Thursday, July 4th:  Wow!  What a fun time we had at our Wet n' Wild 4th of July party at the Manteca Waterslides! Included with admission was an all you can eat BBQ, soda, beer, and DJ music from Footloose Mobile DJ!  Yahoo! Happy B-day USA!

April 7th was our annual Party in the Park at Dr. Powers Park.  There was be live music, a clown for the kids, food, beer, a DJ, and a bunch of games to keep us all having a good time.  We brought the beer and some food.  The party started at noon and went all day!  What fun! 

March 31st, 2002 was Easter.  We always put out our best brunch on Easter.  Brunch was served from 10am-2pm and features tons of breakfast foods, a carving station, numerous entrees, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, champagne, and dessert.  Cost is just $16.95 for adults and $10.95 for kids.  

We partied like we were Irish March 17th!
Festivities kicked off at 6pm with The Beat Monkeys and Guiness (the band.)  There was green beer, drink specials, corned beef and cabbage, and so much more.  If you missed it last year you can still see the pics here.

On February 3rd, 2002 we had one 'Great' Superbowl Party!  We had giveaways, raffles, and drink and food specials. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see the Patriots' upset!

On February 14th we hosted another super-special Great Plate Valentine's Day dinner.  Each year for Valentine's day we pull out the white tablecloths and candles and transform this place into an intimate setting to share a memorable dinner.  

January 27th, 2002 our next comedy night.  We will have a host and two well known comedians to tickle your ribs.  The event will start at 8:30pm and will run about two hours.  Tickets will be available soon at the bar.  There are pictures from last years event up on the photos page.

New Year's Eve came and went and this year's party was the best yet!  More people, more food, more music, and more fun all added up to one 'Great' party!  We look forward to seeing you at our next big event!

Our 4th Annual Feed the Need Thanksgiving Dinner was on Thanksgiving Day from 11am to 4pm.  This year we served dinner to go and for here to more than 300 people!

October 11th was the 13th Annual Downtown Tracy Wine Stroll.  Strollers walked through downtown Tracy tasting wine and hors d'oeuvres.  There was live Jazz music and DJ music throughout the downtown area.  Following this popular event we had our favorite dance band Tabu performing and this place rocked!  Thanks to everyone who dropped by and partied with us!

September 30th was our last VIP party!  This one was a Hawaiian themed 'Luau' party and everyone got 'lei'd'!  This party was in celebration of all September birthdays including Shawn's and was a blast!  We featured live music with Kelly & Johnny, good friends, tropical treats, and more!

September 23rd was
our 2nd Bi-annual Golf Tournament.  It is one of the most popular events we put on.  The participants from the previous two tournaments say our tournament are more fun and wild tan any others they have played in.  And, they're right!  We had a DJ rockin' the course, a poker hole where you stop and play a few hands for great prizes, other contests, a raffle, and more.  A good time was had by all!  Thanks to Joe and Janice from the Comstock Casino, Rick and Nicole for food set-up, Pam, Jill, Charlene, and Brooke for beer cart help, and Maya and Karen for photo help, and Pam and Kathy for the hole-in-one contest.  Also, we aligned with the California Chapter of the National Designated Drivers Association for a portion of the proceeds.

August 29th we proudly hosted the CD release party for our favorite folk rocker Megan Slankard.  Megan has been performing here since '98 and she is well on her way to being a star.  Congratulations Megan!  CD's are available for purchase here. 

August 4th The Great Plate served up the funky fish... Goldfish!  The first annual Great Plate Summer Bash started at 9pm and featured Goldfish, the band, not the cracker , a Beer Garden, Dancing and partying 'til the cows came home!  Tickets were just $10 in advance and $15 at the gate.  They are known for their wild stage shows and unique renditions of 70's old school funk, dance and soul songs. They claim that they don’t do “cover” songs, but rather they take songs and remake them. This was one wild night of fun, crazy dance music!  It was one show people will be talking about for months to follow!

August 4th and 5th was the 14th annual Tracy Dry Bean Festival!  This is Tracy's biggest event of the year and we expect more than 65,000 people to come and party with us.  Check out the entertainment calendar to see who was at the festival.  This festival was a lot of fun and you can get more details here.

Monday July 9th we presented our first Comedy Night at The Great Plate, Featuring The Bay Area Double Headliner Laugh Attack Tour with Kevin Avery & John Alston, and hosted by Larry Thompson.  The show started at 8:30 pm. These guys have been seen on HBO & Showtime.  What fun!

Our last VIP party was Sunday July 8th. These parties are always a blast. We featured drink specials, munchies, great live music from Kelly and Johnny, and this party fell on Brandon's birthday!  We closed the restaurant to the public at 9pm. Everyone put on their best party duds and boogied down with us til the wee hours!

Wed. July 4th:  Wow!  What a fun time we had at our wet n' wild 4th of July party at the Manteca Waterslides! $25 for adults, and kids over 48" tall, or $18 for kids over 42", but under 48". Kids less than 42" are free. Included with admission was an all you can eat BBQ, soda, beer, and live music from the fabulous Straight Shot Band. Yahoo! Happy B-day USA!

June 24th, 2001 we sent Mark Manchester and his band Going Postal off in fine style with a wild bash.  All the band's fans were here and the band was in fine form as Mark goes off to live in Redding.  Best of luck to you Mark!  

June 17th, 2001 was Father's Day.  We always put out our best brunch on Father's Day.  Brunch was served from 10am-3pm and featured tons of breakfast foods, a carving station, numerous entrees, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, champagne, and dessert.

June 13th we had a super fun Crown Royal promotion.   They brought in a full-size Bass Fishing game that we all love for two hours of free fun!  From 9-11pm they were here doing all sorts of fun stuff and then the DJ spun our requests for the rest of the night!

May 24th, 2001 was Cool Blues and Micro-Brews.  This event ran from 6pm-9pm and was a great opportunity to sample new beers and to stroll our wonderful downtown.  It's always fun and is one of our busiest nights of the year.  We had our favorite band, Tabu after the event.  What a party!

May 13th, 2001 is Mother's Day.  We always put out our best brunch on Mother's Day.  Brunch is served from 10am-3pm and features tons of breakfast foods, a carving station, numerous entrees, fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, champagne, and dessert.  Cost is just $16.99 for adults and $6.99 for kids.  Make your reservations at 209-833-0862.

May 6th, 2001 was our 2nd Annual Great Plate Golf Tournament at Old River Golf Course.  18 holes of golf, food and beer, a cart, and so much fun we all ached!

May 5th, 2001 was Cinco de Mayo and one great party!  We, of course, had many great Mexican food specials as well as a super band and plenty of fun stuff going on.  Going Postal performed and it was their last public performance!  It was one of best parties of the year 2001!

April 8th, 2001 was our 2nd Party in the Park at Dr. Powers Park.  There was live music, a clown for the kids, food, beer, a DJ, and a bunch of games to keep us all having a good time.  The party started at noon and went all day!  What fun!

On February 16th, 2001 we opened California's 3rd Hyperbowl gaming centerHyperbowl is a fantastic virtual bowling game that will surely addict you to it's fantastic game play.  We transformed the back room into a whole new world.  Come and check it out!

On February 14th, 2001 we hosted a super-special Great Plate Valentine's Day dinner.  Each year for Valentine's day we pull out the white tablecloths and candles and transform this place into an intimate setting to share a memorable dinner.  

On January 28th, 2001 we had one 'Great' Superbowl Party!  We had giveaways, raffles, drink and food specials, and some special guests (Bud, Coors, and Corona girls paid us a visit!)  Thanks for coming down!

On December 31st, 2000 (Sunday) we had another one of our fantastic New Year's PartiesRoadkill Chili and Going Postal performed to a sell-out crowd!  We had a balloon drop at midnight, plenty of hot and cold finger foods, great bands, dancing, champagne, and much more.  Check back soon for the pictures.

On November 25th, 2000 we celebrated our official 2 year anniversary.  A Tracy favorite band, Roadkill Chili, performed to a super crowd.  We had giveaways and raffles and even the Jager Girls!  Thanks for coming!

On November 23rd, 2000 we celebrated our 2 year anniversary AND we hosted the 3rd Annual Feed the Need Thanksgiving Dinner.  This year we had a better turn-out than ever!  We served just under 200 dinners to many families from our community.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered.  Your giving spirit is appreciated.

On November 22nd, 2000 we will hosted a Benefit Concert for families in need.  All proceeds from the concert will be given to the McHenry House charity organization, Tracy Interfaith Ministries,  and to the 3rd Annual Feed the Need Thanksgiving Dinner.  This year we raised over $500!

On October 28, 2000 we hosted an amazing costume contest.  A lot of people dressed up in costumes and everyone had fun.  Thanks for participating!  Look at the Photos page for more!

On October 18th, 2000 we hosted our first Footloose DJ night here.  Each and every Wednesday starting at 9pm we have DJ music and dancing til the wee hours.  See you here!

October 12th, 2000 was the 12th annual Wine Stroll.  The event went from 6-9pm and after that we had live music by a favorite local band BootyQuake!  They played an amazing mix of funky groovin' tunes and got everyone dancing.  It was great to see you there! 

On August 24, 2000 we had our 1st annual Great Plate Golf Tournament.  It was a wonderful success!  Thank you to all of you who participated.  All proceeds from the event went to the Tracy Arts Council to go toward the renovation of the Grand Theatre directly across the street from us.  Click for photos!
